This bag is a great shape and size - feels perfect on the arm and holds plenty without being too large(approx 9" x 12" x 3"). It has a large inner pocket and double, magnetic snap closure for security. As with all Maiden America leather handbags, it is custom cut and sewn to order. Strap length is approx. 13" from top of purse to top of strap (the point of rest on shoulder). Straps can be adjusted for a custom length. Note, when measuring for strap length, be sure and measure twice - once it's sewn, it's sewn!

This handbag design is more truly 'me', to be completely candid, than many other works I create. I needed a bag with a large front pocket but wanted to do my favorite thing - play with texture, semi precious stones and interesting hardware combinations. The result is this - the first of a series in progress. This one is my bag of choice - practical (a perfect size), functional and original, with a rich, artsy quality to it. The hand work on the pocket is detailed and time consuming. The work itself is heart-skipping because, should an error occur after completing the pocket, there's no other alternative but to start over, completely. Again, leather selection is something I'm generally 'retentive' about - I prefer working with high quality leather - a leather that has a soft 'hand' and rich color. This bag is no exception - a gorgeous combination of fine leather and interesting textile combinations.
